Use a one gallon jug with a handle (milk or laundry soap jugs work great), cut out an opening, fairly good sized. Mix together the following, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup apple cider vinegar and 2 to 4 banana peels (sugar doesn't need to be completely dissolved). Pour into your jug and filll with water to about an inch below your opening. Hang on lower branch in apple tree by the handle (S hooks or cut up rag strips work good for attaching to the tree). Can use more than one jug, depending on size of tree. Dump when full of bugs or mixture is gone; clean out and fill up again.
Put this homemade mixture out before the blossoms appear in the spring and then leave it out for the growing season. This solution attracts bugs and insects to keep them out of your fruit! Enjoy your apple harvest!
